Description
A desuperheater in a geothermal system is a component that utilizes waste heat from the geothermal heat pump's compressor to preheat domestic hot water. It's essentially a heat exchanger that extracts excess heat that would otherwise be expelled into the ground or air, and uses it to warm the water before it enters the main water heater. This can significantly improve the overall efficiency of the geothermal system, especially during the summer when the heat pump is primarily in cooling mode.
